    Aug 202X - Pioneer Training September 202X - Program Pairing December 202X - Year End Banquet May/June 202X - Program Closeout
  • What training will I receive?
    Training Overview: Recurring trainining of systems and overall program structure Key Components: Focus areas such as mentorship skills and youth development.
  • What is the time commitment?
    Weekly Hours: 1 to 2 hours of mentorship (can be done virtually) ​Attendance of our Monthly Steps to Success Steps Series (Every 2nd Saturday of the Month) Optional Attendance of other in-person programming. Program Duration: September to June mentorship period.
  • What are my responsibilities as a Pioneer?
    Mentoring Activities: Weekly meetings, career guidance, and progress tracking. Documentation: Keeping records in the Learning Management System.
  • How do I support my mentee?
    Be Consistent: Schedule regular meetings and stick to them. Active Listening: Pay full attention and show empathy. Set Goals: Help your mentee set and achieve realistic goals. Provide Feedback: Offer constructive and positive feedback. Encourage Growth: Support personal and professional development.
  • Resources: Available Support Resources for Mentors
    Attending Events: Participate in workshops, training sessions, and networking events. Connecting to Other Programs: Engage with other mentoring and community programs for additional support and resources. Online Resources: Access the Learning Management System for tracking progress and accessing mentorship materials. Peer Support: Connect with fellow Pioneers for shared experiences and advice. Program Coordinators: Reach out to program coordinators for guidance and assistance.

    Steps to Success Conference: An annual event featuring keynote speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities. Mentoring Matters 5K: A community run/walk event that brings together mentors, mentees, and supporters to promote fitness and raise awareness. Thrive Over Survive Graduation Ceremony: Celebrating the achievements and milestones of our mentees at the end of the program year.

    Career Exploration Events: Engage in activities like job shadowing, industry visits, and guest speaker sessions to explore various career paths. Job Fairs: Participate in local and regional job fairs to connect with potential employers and gain insights into different industries. Community Service Projects: Contribute to community improvement projects, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and teamwork.
